What’s happened this week 24th June 2018

We had a busy week and week-end with so many things happening in our lovey neighbourhood.

It started on Tuesday with the Brent Connects Kilburn meeting, where the appointment of a new Brent Kilburn Town Centre Manager was announced. We have had numerous Town Centre Managers in the past with little improvement to the street realm. So we hope that this time, people who live and work in Kilburn will be listened to and improvements will be made. Please continue to use  this  consultation to register your comments about Kilburn as the consultation is oppened until 2019.

It was “Open studios week-end” at Kingsgate Workshops on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  The workshops were saved from demolition in 1976 and the first artists/makers moved in in 1978. A beautiful example of what community involvement can achieve. Did you go?

What’s happened this week 17th June 2018

The big news this week is that the planning application for the demolition of the Good Ship and converting it into flats with a D1 use business on the ground floor has been refused!! Let’s hope we can retain a licensed venue in this location for locals and visitors to Kilburn to enjoy. Thanks to all who took the time to object.

What’s happened this week 10th June 2018

How long is the Kilburn High Road between Kilburn station and Kilburn Library at the bottom? Well most of you got it wrong. It is 1.8 kms!

For singer Dua Lipa it all started in Kilburn.

Wingmans finally opened on Thursday and have been busy ever since. Really tasty chicken wings and friendly owners. Unfortunately their 25% discount ended today. Give them a try. Official launch night is this coming week, on Wednesday. Expect a few food writers in Kilburn! Continue reading

What’s happened this week 3rd June 2018

Spring has sprung. It’s nice to see that the flowers planted by volunteers at the Kilburn tube station have bloomed

Bistro 267 at 267 Kilburn High Road opened on 2nd June. The actual premises and menu do not ressemble their website though.

Damas Gardens restaurant at 222 Kilburn High Road closed and is being refurbished to open as a Mexican restaurant in about 4 weeks time.
