What’s happened this week 8th July 2018

This week was about… Football, and next week will be about Football…

It did not stop us attending both the Jester Festival on Fortune Green and the mini festival at Grange Park, where the highlight, apart from the talented ICMP students was our tennis coach turning into a singer.

The KNPF had their members meeting where the new Kilburn Town Centre manager announced bids for new murals, while the Kilburn Times reported on  Brent’s lack of interest in maintaining our existing mural by Kilburn station. Also news is that Brent are appointing a Marketing Agency to promote Kilburn.

Wingmans had a mention in @designmynight.

Traid always delight us with their shop window displays.

On Tuesday,  the year old,  Ballymore flats in West Hampsted behind the M&S had some balconies catch fire from a cigarette butt that wasn’t properly extinguished. This caused traffic chaos and prevented some emergency vehicles being able to access the scene.

Bouncy boots were back in Maygrove Park. If you’re interested in doing some exercise that’s a little bit different, check out the info here.

The shared workspace that has never opened is for sale along with 16 flats .

Squatters in the old job centre are facing eviction.

Thanks very much to the Good Gym Brent for volunteering and watering the community gardens at the Abbey Community Centre. Good Gym is a great way to get fit while volunteering at the same time.

Michael Lawson visited Folkies Music.

Express yourself… through dance! Check out the weekly dance expression classes every Tuesday 11-12:30pm at the Kingsgate community centre. They also have other classes such as Zumba and art classes. Check out their website for more info.

A kids scooter was lost from Templar House….and happily found again.

Did you know Kilburn has a room escape game venue?

Abbey Community Centre is offering a large number of events and courses. Check out their newletter.

This weeks BRAT meeting was cancelled due to lower numbers than usual as England were playing. New date is the 10th July at the ICMP.

The South Kilburn Trust is recruiting for a facilities assitant and are looking for new Trustees.
