Slow laptops\, broken printers\, coffee grinders\, lamps\, kettles\, vacuums and many other small electrical items! We’ll help you figure out the problem and give help and advice on how to fix it. \nRestart Parties promote the repair and maintenance of electronics that may otherwise be thrown away. Our volunteers will help you learn to fix\, we’re not simply a free repair service and we can’t guarantee to fix everything. \nDO:\nCheck if your device is still within warranty\, you may be eligible for a free repair\, replacement or a refund. (Which? helps in the UK).\nTake responsibility for your device and your data. Our volunteers are there to help you learn to fix your gadget\, not to provide a free repair service. Please back up your data before the event.\nCharge up your device and bring all leads and adaptors.\nGet in touch with organisers if you have any questions about whether a fix is possible.\nDonate to support our work\nDON’T:\nAssume repairs will be successful. We will aim to cut back the invasive vegetation at the back of the building\, sort out what we can reuse from the piles of stuff accumulated at the back. \n\n\n\nAll welcome.  \n\n\n\nPlease bring gardening gloves if you own some and hand saws. If you do not have any equipment\, no worries\, we have some.  \n\n\n\nIf you cannot spare 3 hours\, you are also welcome for a shorter time. Just show up at the door of the building and you will be directed to the garden area. \n\n\n\nRefreshments provided.

New year new show new me \, another run around the sun and still its green florets and no regrets. 2023 keep spiralling lets get it – Tilly the Snail ????Brockley Gardens was a project space in a South London garage active between 2019-22\, run by two friends and artists Thomas Greig and Billy Crosby. Developing out of the conversations they started at art school\, the close knit relationship between them became a key part of the space’s functioning and voice. They ran a varied programme with an emphasis on helping early career artists realise small focused shows. It was run on a shoestring but being light on the draft lent itself to risk taking and creative autonomy. Three years is the sweet spot for this kind of thing\, in their experience.

Developing out of the conversations they started at art school\, the close knit relationship between them became a key part of the space’s functioning and voice. They ran a varied programme with an emphasis on helping early career artists realise small focused shows. It was run on a shoestring but being light on the draft lent itself to risk taking and creative autonomy. Three years is the sweet spot for this kind of thing\, in their experience.

DESCRIPTION:The wonderful Kate and Alan have worked very hard to secure funding and new premises for their Charity “Kilburn State of Mind”. They have moved from Watling Gardens to the arches between Maygrove Road and Loveridge Road. \nThey have tranformed an empty space into a welcoming space including a music recording studio and a performance area. \nWe have had a preview and really would recommend that you go and visit\, to discover the new space\, the activities on offer and also possibly bring ideas. \nGoogle maps do not show the location properly\, so if you are planning to visit\, the entrance is either via Loveridge Road\, straigth before the bridge when coming from Kilburn High Road\, or via Maygrove Road\, straight after the old “Cod’s Plaice” when coming from Kilburn High Road. \nBelow is a taster of their activities. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:The Kilburn Tin Tabernacle is run by volunteers. \nThe building needs some love and care! AND WE NEED YOUR HELP! \nWe would like to start with the frontage of the building\, clearing the invasive vegetation and getting the front garden ready for planting. This would definitely enhance the appeal of the building from the street! \nSimilar tasks are needed in the back garden\, to ensure vegetation doesn’t damage the building. \nWe would love you to come and help. Tools and refreshments will be provided\, but please bring gardening gloves. \nIt will be a great way to meet the team\, interact with neighbours\, while helping to enhance and preserve this wonderful historic Kilburn building. \nNo experience needed. You can decide to come for the whole 4 hours or  for a shorter length of time. \nPlease show up on the day or email news@lifeinkilburn to let us know you are coming or if you have any question. \nHope to see you there. \n \n
